Nanga Parbat Base Camp, 4230mt above sea level, -24°C
Today is a beautiful day, not a cloud in the sky. We took advantage of the sun to dry our clothes and then we took off for the glacier to check out the Nanga Parbat wall a bit better.
Denis and i also took time out to prepare the heli landing area: it’s always better to have it ready in case of emergencies. The spot is close to our Base Camp, and thanks to our constant stepping on the fresh snow and to the temperature changes between night and day, now the surface is hard enough to bear the weight of any Heli.
In the mean time I am rushing to finish my book. I am down to 85% and I want to write all afternoon and evening so that I can get 90% of it done. Then there will be only one story missing..
Tomorrow’s programs depend on the weather. The whole Polish team has arrived and we still don’t know if tomorrow they will follow our trail and set up a deposit or a camp on the mountain.
